To the exhibition

Year after year, nature performs a miracle: with fresh snow, it blankets mountain peaks and Alpine valleys, covering rock and stone, forest and field in wet white. Like unwritten pages or black canvases, the mountains are surrended to the interplay of sun and moonlight from the first snowfall of winter until the spring thaw.

While the seasons describe the cycles of nature, the rocky peaks of the Alps represent an infinity almost unimaginable to us humans. In this way, the immediacy of current events and periodicity of our lives are placed in the context of past and future - put into perspective and viewed through a wider lens. These are grand questions being asked, and equally grand are the answers that reach us through the composition of warm grays and cold whites.

On display are: artworks from series “Eternal peaks” (Engadine Alps, acrylic on glacier fleece). Other mountains of the Grisons and Bernese Alps (oil pastel on paper, oil on cardboard).

The paintings are accompanied by a procedurally generated, subliminal sound installation (G.Wicki).
